The paper explores the early articulation of a gendercide framework by Mary Anne Warren; the author's own attempted revision of Warren's framing; and the critical perspectives advanced by Charli Carpenter and Stuart Stein, among others. A brief comparative-historical analysis of gendercide phenomenon is followed by thoughts on its relevance to issues of humanitarian intervention, human-rights activism, and economic globalization. The conclusion explores whether gendercide remains as prominent in political-military conflicts and social institutions worldwide as in the past, and whether its prominence is likely to decrease or increase in the future.
